Hi!
My name is Tyler. I’m a beginner costumer for theater, and am currently studying that in college. I first started making costumes in Fall 2015, and have been working on expanding my knowledge and portfolio ever since. I mainly focus on fantasy and historically inspired costumes.
I am currently working as a stitching/wardrobe apprentice for Santa Fe Opera’s 2024 season.
I worked as an intern on Silicon Valley Shakespeare’s 2019 production of White Snake, where I helped sew the ensemble costumes and worked as the wardrobe manager and dresser during each show during the several weeks of its run.
I participated in a program with Make: in Spring 2021. The program was intended as a learning opportunity, where each person would be supported through designing and producing a project that could be used for a practical purpose. I made my Mr. Night costume as my final project.
I worked as a dresser and wardrobe manager for a production of Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 in Spring 2022. I am currently employed as an assistant in my college costume shop. In 2022, I interned in the scene shop at that same college.
Over the summer of 2023, I worked as an intern in the shoemaking shop at Colonial Williamsburg.
I designed the costumes for a production of She Kills Monsters in 2022, a production of Chicago in 2023, and a production of You on the Moors Now in 2024 for which I received the Peggy Clark Kelly Design Prize. I also assistant designed for a production of Dance Nation in 2023.
