A Midsummer Night’s Dream Designs

These designs were part of my final project for my first costume design class in 2022, for which I had to design a number of costumes for a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream set somewhere in the town my college is in. I chose to set mine on the bank of the river that runs through the campus, and specifically wanted it set in winter.

One of the first images that came to me was the idea of the fairies blending in to the set. To achieve that, I kept them in a lot of browns and whites, to make them look similar to the snow of the river bank. For the human characters, I did the opposite, dressing them in rich colors to make them feel almost intrusive to the environment.
