Two Oberon Designs

I made these designs as part of my second costume design class in the spring of 2023. The prompt was to design two versions of Oberon. One of the designs was a modern version, and the other was to be inspired by ballet costumes. There was an added design challenge, though: the actor playing the modern Oberon was very slim, and wanted to appear more physically imposing, while the actor playing the more fantastical Oberon was a larger man who wanted to appear more spirit-like.

This was a fun challenge, and I did a lot of sketches to try to figure out how to use the clothes to visually alter the actors’ appearance.
